Chew Magna Primary School is proud to announce that we recently achieved our Green Flag status.
As a school we:
Create our own energy through solar panels.
We recycle wherever possible.
We monitor our energy use and aim to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible.
We aim to keep our school grounds litter-free.
We have Eco-Monitors in each class who meet once a term to evaluate environment and sustainable issues in school.
Are developing our school grounds to encourage bio-diversity.
We use local workman wherever possible.
We only use FSC wood when constructing equipment on the field.
We buy furniture that uses FSC wood whenever possible.
We use environmentally friendly cleaning products whenever possible and toilet tissue and paper towels that are from a recycled source.
We reuse products when possible.
We educate the children to think about environmental issues and the impact they can have on the world.
We have a gardening club that meet once a week. They grow vegetables; keep our pots looking great and plants bushes and shrubs.
Have a wonderful caretaker who is part of our Eco-team.
