Eco-School

Chew Magna Primary School is proud to announce that we recently achieved our Green Flag status.

As a school we:
• Create our own energy through solar panels.
• We recycle wherever possible.
• We monitor our energy use and aim to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible.
• We aim to keep our school grounds litter-free.
• We have Eco-Monitors in each class who meet once a term to evaluate environment and sustainable issues in school.
• Are developing our school grounds to encourage bio-diversity.
• We use local workman wherever possible.
• We only use FSC wood when constructing equipment on the field.
• We buy furniture that uses FSC wood whenever possible.
• We use environmentally friendly cleaning products whenever possible and toilet tissue and paper towels that are from a recycled source.
• We reuse products when possible.
• We educate the children to think about environmental issues and the impact they can have on the world.
• We have a gardening club that meet once a week. They grow vegetables; keep our pots looking great and plants bushes and shrubs.
• Have a wonderful caretaker who is part of our Eco-team.

We have an Eco-Code that was produced by the Adams family.
